In 1906, Bernhard Krone founded his own blacksmith shop in Spello, Germany. This was the beginning of the company as we know it today. Bernhard's two older sons Bernard and Heinrich gradually extended the factory and established production of agricultural machinery, which they sold to local farmers.
In 1977, the company introduced a prototype of a round bale machine. The production program by Krone includes disc mowers, rotary rakes, rotary tedders, forage wagons, high-pressure presses for square and round bales, Big M self-propelled mower conditioners that mow with a working width of 13.20 m, and Big X forage harvesters.
